Ministries

Volunteers are always needed to make our Liturgical Celebration a reflection of the community spirit you will find here at Saint John Paul II. No age limit or special skills needed.  All are welcome and encouraged to participate in the Mass.

LECTORS

Lectors are God’s instruments for proclaiming the word of God to the congregation.

Training opportunities are provided to enhance our lectors’ efforts to support the liturgy of the word of God.

Anyone in Middle School or older is able to participate.

Ministry Leader: DiAnn Kiel

EXTRAORDINARY MINISTERS OF HOLY COMMUNION

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion offer the Church’s most precious gift to the assembly:

the Body and Blood of Christ. They assist the ordinary ministers of the Eucharist

(the priest and deacons) in distribution of Holy Communion during Mass.

Ministry Leader: Deacon Michael Kennedy

USHERS

Ushers offer direction with regard to seating, organizing and conducting collections and

assisting with offertory and communion processions.

The Ushers are also called upon to answer any variety of questions and

must be prepared to handle emergencies when the need arises.

Anyone can participate in this ministry – men, women, children, and families.

Ministry Leaders: Jeffery Kiel

ALTAR SERVERS

Here at Saint John Paul II our mission is to promote and train SJPII parishioners

to serve as Altar Servers and to ensure uniformity in the procedures used at weekend Masses.

Servers are also trained for special events, such as Holy Week, Our Lady of Guadalupe, Christmas, and

at other special occasions.

Ministry Leader: Deacon Michael Kennedy

MUSIC MINISTRY

SJPII is fortunate to have several music ensembles – Prior experience in a choir or

ensemble is not necessary. The ability to read music is not necessary.

However, it is necessary for you to have the desire to praise God with your musical gifts!

If you play an instrument, or enjoy singing, and would like to become part of our music ministry,

please contact Carlos Hernandez.
